We are not trying to invent something fundamentally new; we simply love the dreamcore aesthetic. However, it seemed to us that existing games often emphasize the unsettling side of liminal spaces, which usually evoke feelings of anxiety and loneliness. So we decided to create a softer, dreamier, and less frightening interpretation. We hope it gives you that very feeling of anemoia for which this game was created.
About the Game
Dreamcore: Rabbit Hole is a meditative walk through unsettlingly familiar liminal spaces, inspired by dreamcore aesthetics and the image of the “ideal America” of the 1980s.
Every location is a distinct place with its own atmosphere, architecture, and soundscape. Sometimes cozy, sometimes unsettling, but always slightly familiar—like the memory of a dream or a place you feel you’ve already been.
Modes:
- Story Mode — the tale of a person searching for the way back to reality.
- Relax Mode — free wandering through dream worlds, with no goals or restrictions.
